Should I copy the old catalogs over first? I suppose that's because the new LRc doesn't have the old catalogs to refer to - still in the old PC. To compound the problem, those old photos missing on the old 'C' drive in the old PC are not showing up in the 'find missing photos" in the new LRc in the new PC. Since I moved the external drives over to the new PC (simply moved the USB connector), they are now called the "L" & "M" drives! I realize now that the two external drives (two in a single enclosure connected via USB), used to be named as "G" & "H" drives in the old PC. using "view in Explorer" and they show located in the 'G' Drive. I tried to locate one or two of the missing photos via the new PC and the latest LRc. I'm quite sure there were more than that when I last checked in the old Win-7 PC. I tried "find missing photos" in LRc V10 in my new PC and it lists 374 missing photos and they all appear to be those I shot in June - 2020. You will then probably have to relink your images, but before we get into that please let un know where those images are located (Win/7 "C:" drive, external HD, already copied to Win/10 C drive, etc.).

Assuming the windows/7 computer was running an older version of Lr, when you try to open that catalog on the win/10 computer it will ask to upgrade the catalog. Then in File Manager (windows explorer) double click on the catalog file (file ends in ".lrcat") to open LrC using that catalog.

copy the folder containing your catalog from the the Win/7 machine to the Win/10 machine. However you may want to just forget about the Windows/7 machine and concentrate on the windows/10 computer. This again does not change the existing catalog but rather makes a copy of it and upgrades the copy.

However, if you install a version of LrC that is newer than the one you had been using, the install process will ask you it it is OK to upgrade the catalog to be compatible with the newer version of LrC.

A reinstall of LrC will not replace or change catalogs that already exist on your computer. You could search the web or a download of the missing dll (make sure it's from Windows/7), but I'd probably start with a reinstall of LrC. Some other app may have updated and caused some corruption.

I don't know what's going on, but I can assure you that Windows/7 did not do an update as it has been out of support for many years.
